Solid ground, literally

We're a Durban property maintenance team. Most of what we do is fixing the things that, left alone, quietly cost a property owner a lot of money.

Why we started

Property maintenance has a reputation problem, and it's earned. Quotes that arrive as one number with no breakdown. Crews that start on Tuesday and reappear three weeks later. Work that looks fine for a season and then fails in exactly the place nobody checked.

Solid Ground was started to run the other way. Show up when we said. Explain what's actually wrong before quoting. Put the preparation in, even when it's the part nobody sees. And leave the property cleaner than we found it.

That's the whole idea. It isn't complicated, it's just consistently done — which in this trade is rarer than it should be.

How we work

Four things we hold to on every job, big or small.

Diagnose firstCause, not symptom
Quote in writingItemised, always
No surprise extrasPriced and agreed first
Clean handoverSwept, walkthrough, then invoice

The team

We're a small, permanent crew rather than a rotating set of subcontractors. The people who quote your job are the people who do it, which is why we don't hand work off and why you'll deal with one person from the first message to the final walkthrough.

Between us we cover painting and surface preparation, plumbing repairs, tiling and screeding, waterproofing systems and general building maintenance. Where a job needs a registered trade — electrical, gas, structural — we bring in someone we've worked with for years and tell you who's coming.
